08:30 PM Wednesday March 13

An upper ridge will remain near or over the area through the weekend. A couple of weak fronts will dent the ridge thursday and again saturday night. The ridge will strengthen monday and tuesday--giving well above normal temperatures.

SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/

Skies are clearing as an upper ridge builds over the region tonight. A front moving into british columbia will brush the area on thursday for an increase in clouds and perhaps some sprinkles. It will be warming over the next several days--highs thursday will be in the mid 50s for seattle, so that is probably going to be the warmest day since the last day of january when sea-tac had a high of 54. And the upper ridge will amplify on friday, allowing for considerably more sun and highs well into the 50s--perhaps topping out around 60. Another weak system will weaken the ridge saturday--but the ridge will build even more strongly into early next week.

LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/

All models have a sharp and strong upper ridge over western washington on monday. Both monday and tuesday will have temperatures well above normal, in the 60s with perhaps some spots touching 70 in offshore surface flow. The ridge will drift away to the northeast by wednesday, allowing a little cooling but still keeping any rain at bay.

HYDROLOGY

Flooding is not expected for the next 7 days.
