An upper ridge will build over the area with increasing low level offshore flow through tuesday for dry weather with a warming trend. Wetter and cooler weather will return for the latter half of next week as a couple of weakening fronts reach the area.

SHORT TERM /TODAY THROUGH MONDAY/

A front dissipating off the coast will bring some clouds today but any associated precipitation should stay offshore. Highs will be in the mid 50s to lower 60s. An upper ridge will build over the area sunday and monday for dry and sunny weather with increasing low level offshore flow. Highs will warm into the 60s both days. Schneider

LONG TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/

Previous discussion...good agreement in the extended models on tuesday with one more very warm day. Low level offshore flow continuing with some weakening of the afternoon northerly gradient resulting in highs a couple of degrees warmer than monday, in the 60s and lower 70s. Current forecast highs will break the records in some locations on tuesday including but not limited to seattle ( 63 in 1951 ) and olympia ( 66 in 1968 ).

Model solutions for wednesday remain inconsistent with the ecmwf slower and weaker with a negatively tilted front moving up from the southwest versus the gfs. Given the negative tilt of the front at this point will lean toward the ecmwf solution and only have slight chance pops for wednesday. Highs will be cooler but still above normal, in the mid 50s to lower 60s.

Inconsistent solutions continue wednesday night into friday with the gfs keeping the front intact fairly well while the ecmwf has the front falling apart as it reaches the area wednesday night into thursday morning. Gfs also faster and stronger with the next system on friday versus the ecmwf but with a digging trough offshore the forecast will once again lean toward the ecmwf. Not enough confidence to take the pops totally out of the forecast for thursday and friday. Will leave them in the slight chance or chance category both days. Highs in the 50s both days. Lows through the extended period in the mid 30s to mid 40s. Felton
