Onshore flow with increasing clouds and cooler temperatures. A weak system will bring showers and breezy conditions later friday into saturday. Unsettled weather will continue into next week.

SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/

Onshore flow with increasing clouds tonight as stratus spreads inland tonight with the deepening marine layer. A front approaching the coast tomorrow will spread rain inland during the afternoon to overnight hours. Rainfall amounts continue to look light with high snow levels. The trailing upper level trough linger saturday resulting in a showery pattern through the day with high temperatures in the 50s. The system will then fully exit the area on sunday leaving a mostly dry day and a bit warmer than saturday.

LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/

From previous discussion...unsettled pattern will continue next week with several systems rotating through the area.models continue to differ on timing, strength, and moisture associated with each system. Though current forecast suggests chances for precipitation across most periods, there will likely be some breaks in there. Until differences can be resolved, no major changes made in the extended forecast. Temperatures will be near normal. Ceo

MARINE

Onshore flow with small craft advisory conditions in the central strait. Winds and seas will ease after midnight then increase friday ahead of a frontal system expected to affect area waters friday and saturday. Increasing southerlies friday with small craft advisory conditions for washington coastal waters friday into friday evening. In addition significant westerly swell - 10 to 12 feet will affect the coastal waters and west entrance friday night, rising to 14 feet at 16 seconds on saturday.

AVIATION

Increasing mid and high clouds this evening with stratus along the coast. Vfr conditions will linger for most tafs north of ksea with periods of mvfr across the south sound and coast into tonight. Additional cloud cover expected into tomorrow morning with mvfr/vfr at most sites. Showers will affect the area friday afternoon into friday evening with vfr/mvfr conditions. Winds generally southerly through the period from 5 to 15 kts.
