08:20 PM Friday March 22

A weak cold front over western washington will move inland overnight. Another front will reach the area monday. Weak upper troughs will bring a chance of showers at times next week.

SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY/

A weakening front is over western washington this evening. There are some areas of showers but there isn`t a lot going on with this system. A few showers are possible into saturday and then any shower activity will end saturday night. Low level offshore flow on sunday will dry the air with more sunshine. Another front will move into the area on monday for another chance of rain. Overall it looks like this first front split as it came ashore, with the stronger portion of the front holding together as it moved into california. Perhaps the front on monday will split as well.

LONG TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/

Some showers will linger into tuesday behind the monday front but the trend will be for drying. It looks like an upper level blocking pattern will develop wednesday and probably continue into thursday and friday. this should keep any fronts or organized weather systems out of the area but it also makes for a rather squirrely pattern with low confidence in the details. There will likely be some dry periods mixed with times when there is a chance of showers. Schneider

HYDROLOGY

River flooding is not expected for the next 7 days.
